memes

Chris posted this on his blog yesterday and I thought that it was interesting and would follow suit.

Rather than ensnare you in an email chain, let me just instead share what I’ve done and invite you to do the same. Google your first name, followed by “goes” and press ‘enter.’ Then watch the googlerific results spill forth.

This is where I am going …

  • Neil goes for a swim.
  • Neil goes off the wall.
  • Neil goes to the wire.
  • Neil goes public.
  • Neil goes Nubian.
  • Neil goes to Holywood.
  • Neil goes caveman with fire.
  • Neil goes to work by car and he listens to the radio.
  • Neil goes missing.
  • Neil follows the footy and takes a trip to Switzerland.
  • Neil goes on to express his worry over the daffodils not arriving on time.
  • Neil goes through the mud pit and gets sideways.
  • Neil goes to make some food.
  • Neil goes out of the gate.
  • Neil goes shark hunting.
  • Neil goes outside and starts picking on a kid named Ian; he gives him a wedgie …
  • Neil goes to an abandoned drive-in movie theater to exchange the stolen bonds for money.

An finally, I click on the Images tag and found out that Neil goes for a world record!

Neil goes for a world record.

I’ve been trying hard not to do too many memes for a while, but this was called to me with the force.

Your Star Wars Name And Title

Your Star Wars Name: Neila Calon

Your Star Wars Title: Alpur of Lezah

Sounds cool and realistic to me.

I did a load more meme’s today from Blogthings, but two of them I found particularly interesting and thought I’d share them with you.

First of all:

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

According to this I ended up in the right profession, what a relief !? ;-)

Secondly:

In 1979 (the year you were born)

Jimmy Carter is president of the US

A major accident occurs at a nuclear reactor on Three Mile Island near Middletown, PA

An American Airlines DC-10 loses its engine and crashes seconds after takeoff, killing 275 people

Hurricane David kills over 1200 in the US and the Dominican Republic

Some 90 people, including 63 Americans, are taken hostage at the American Embassy in Tehran, Iran

The Soviet Union invades Afghanistan

ESPN starts broadcasting

Aaliyah, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Norah Jones, Heath Ledger, and Kate Hudson are born

Pittsburgh Pirates win the World Series

Pittsburgh Steelers win Superbowl XIII

Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup

Kramer vs. Kramer is the top grossing film

Sophie’s Choice by William Styron is published

“My Sharona” by The Knack spends the most time at the top of the US charts

The Facts of Life premiers

Seems a lot of bad things happened in the year I was born, I suppose they had to balance it out for all those good people being born at the same time. ;-)

Okay, I admit that posting whilst sleepy will lead to bad spelling and to posts that are not too well thought out, and I admit to struggling with what to post today. I do, however, subscribe to the feed from Blogthings and it has come to my rescue today with not one, but three memes which I found interesting.

Firstly:

Who was I in High School?

All American Kid

Popular but not plastic. Athletic but not a jock. Smart but not a brain.

You were well rounded and well liked in high school.

Quite an accurate description of what I was like in High School, (if you substitute British for American that is!)

Secondly:

    What is my religious philosophy?

You are a Believer

You believe in God and your chosen religion.
Whether you’re Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or Hindu..
Your convictions are strong and unwavering.
You think your religion is the one true way, for everyone.

Again a very accurate description of what I am like in my faith and in expression of my faith.

And finally a less serious one:

    What does my name mean?

What Intellectual Bohemian Means

I is for Impressive

N is for Naughty

T is for Twisted

E is for Exuberant

L is for Likeable

L is for Luscious

E is for Extraordinary

C is for Cheesy

T is for Twisted

U is for Upbeat

A is for Alluring

L is for Lucky

B is for Bashful

O is for Outgoing

H is for Helpful

E is for Exquisite

M is for Mellow

I is for Influential

A is for Artistic

N is for Neat

A lovely description of me, although I am slightly concerned with “Twisted” coming up twice!
